EventSimpler prohibits intimate images or videos of an identifiable person from being published without that person's consent. This includes authentic material and digital forgeries created or altered with software, machine learning, or artificial intelligence.

1. Who may submit a request

A request may be submitted by the identifiable person depicted or by an authorized person acting on that individual's behalf, including a parent or guardian acting for a minor. You do not need an EventSimpler account.

2. What this process covers

This process covers an intimate visual depiction published through the Services that depicts an identifiable individual and was published without that individual's consent. It includes real images or videos and realistic digital forgeries, face swaps, altered media, or AI-generated depictions.

This process is separate from copyright takedowns. You may request removal even if you did not take the photo or own its copyright. It is also separate from emergency or criminal reporting. Contact local emergency services or law enforcement when there is immediate danger, extortion, stalking, or another urgent threat.

3. How to submit a removal request

Send a written removal request to hello@eventsimpler.com. Instructions are available at https://eventsimpler.com/legal/intimate-image-removal/. The request must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature, or the signature of an authorized representative.
  2. The exact EventSimpler URL and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate the image or video. Identify the Site, page, post, gallery item, file, message, or other location.
  3. A brief statement that you have a good-faith belief the identified intimate image or video was published without the depicted person's consent. Include relevant information that will help us assess the request.
  4. Contact information that allows us to reach the depicted person or authorized representative, such as an email address and, if appropriate, a telephone number or mailing address.
  5. If you are acting for another person, a brief explanation and, when reasonably requested, documentation showing your authority.

Do not download or attach illegal content. Usually, the direct URL and location are sufficient. If the image may depict a minor, do not re-upload or email the image itself. Provide the location and report it through https://eventsimpler.com/legal/report/ as well.

4. What happens after submission

We will acknowledge the request and assign a case number. We may contact you for information needed to locate the content, verify the request, or confirm authority. A request is considered valid when it contains the required written information and reasonably identifies content hosted through the Services.

After receiving a valid request, we will remove the identified intimate visual depiction as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after receipt. We will also make reasonable efforts within that period to identify and remove known identical copies hosted through the Services.

We will notify the requester when action is completed or explain why the request could not be validated or the content could not be located. We may preserve limited records and evidence as required for safety, law enforcement, legal claims, fraud prevention, and compliance.

5. Effect on the account that posted the content

We may notify the Account Holder, remove content, restrict the Site, suspend or terminate the account, block re-upload, preserve evidence, and report apparent criminal or child-exploitation conduct to appropriate authorities. We may withhold details from the posting user when disclosure could endanger a person, reveal sensitive information, interfere with an investigation, or violate law.

Removal under this process may occur even when the posting user disputes the request. This process does not provide a statutory counter-notice procedure equivalent to the DMCA. A user may submit a policy appeal, but content will remain disabled while safety or legal concerns are unresolved.

6. Privacy and confidentiality

We limit access to requests and depicted content to personnel and providers who need it for review, removal, safety, security, legal compliance, and system integrity. We may share information with law enforcement, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, service providers, or others when required or reasonably necessary to address harm or comply with law.

The requester's identity and contact information will not be publicly displayed through this process. We may disclose limited information to the posting user when necessary to explain an action or process an appeal, but we will avoid unnecessary disclosure of the requester's sensitive information.

7. False or abusive requests

Submit requests in good faith. Do not impersonate another person, falsely claim authority, or use this process to remove lawful non-intimate content. We may reject abusive requests, preserve evidence, restrict access to reporting tools, or refer fraud and threats to appropriate authorities.
